Project Manager: Anzie Gilmore

Named for former U.S. Secretary of Energy Charles Duncan ’47 and his wife Anne, Duncan College was the first LEED Gold-certified new construction project on the Rice University campus. The college is designed to hold 324 beds and features a vegetative roof that holds soil and protects plant life. The building features many innovative "Green" building systems including bathroom pods and HVAC infrared room sensors. The college was built simultaneously with McMurtry College and was completed in the August 2009. The colleges are critical part of Rice’s Vision for the Second Century, expanding the undergraduate population by 30%.
