The leak in the water line on the west-side of Lab Road near the Rice Memorial Center was unable to be repaired today. Skilled technicians from Facilities Engineering and Planning are scheduled to work throughout the night to repair the water line. This will necessitate the closure of Lab Road at Lovett Hall. Traffic will be re-routed around Founder’s Court and back towards College Way which will be open to two-way traffic up to Alumni Drive during this time. Work is expected to complete before 6 am Thursday, Jun. 18. If the water line repair is not complete at that time, steel plates will be placed over the repair in the road and regular traffic patterns will resume.
